Chaumont international poster festival - Etudiants, Tous à Chaumont, 2006.
For its 17th edition, the International Poster and Graphic Design Festival of Chaumont
has chosen the question :«Derrière la révolte des banlieues» (Behind the revolts in the suburbs). Our poster utilised a socio-visual interpretation of the Birds flu virus, that appeared in Europe in the early '00s, in three steps.
Step one: The Rooster paradigm. Using the rooster as a visual form example, divided in 3 conceptual states. Head (decision takers), Body (mass that follows the lead) and Feet
(do all the work).
Step two: Geographic locations. Using the Cock as a geographic symbol of France, the Country was divided into 3 categories. North regions (Wealthier regions), central regions (medium income regions) and south regions (lowest income regions).
Step three: Wealth status. Using the Cock as a symbol of economical status, it was divided into 3 categories: Higher economic state (annual income above 5.000.000€), medium economic state (annual income above 800.000€) and lower economic state (annual income above 1.000€).
*The poster was selected in the exhibition amongst Europe's best ten.
