A typography exhibition exploring Bell Gothic, the typeface that helped shaped corporate America.
As part of a University assignment I was given the task of designing a poster for a fictional exhibition for a typeface that we were given at random - Bell Gothic in this instance.
Bell Gothic was designed for the American Bell telephone system & directory in 1938 with the intent of being highly legible at very small sizes. The design for the poster plays on this angle by juxtaposing a history of the Bell telephone system as the poster's background, written in tiny characters, with the typefaces name in large, bold letters in the foreground.
