Group project for a design phychology class,
based on studies proving that if you study in the same mood as you are tested in you have higher memory recall.
The chair is designed for study contexts to recreate the mood experienced in an exams. The seat drops slightly when sat on to angle to user towards their work and make it harder for them to lean back, and therefore away from their books. The sudden drop also gives the nervous sensation expericed before an exam. The back of the chair is curved backwards to make this more difficult as well, and induce the feeling that if they were to lean backwards, the chair would become unstable. The chair is larger in scale giving a slight sense of belittlement that is experienced in the large examination rooms.
