An older member and mother of the Monterey Bay sea otter community. Today, the vast majority of sea otters in Monterey Bay are descdendents of a small group of 25 sea otters. They were brought in for treatment and to bring the otter community back to healthy numbers in the late 80's and early 90's when their population was dangerously low.

This photograph was taken the day of the 2014 Maverick's Invitational Surf Contest in February. You could say that they picked the perfect day for the contest, and the entire coast reaped the benefits!

I've always been interested in the concept of passing through different realms; to me this captures it perfectly. Embarking from the peaceful, oxygen-filled sky to the moody, unpredictable underwaters.

A steamy, muggy, "but strangely dry" summer day in the South Coast of Massachusetts, was a great day to blow some bubbles at the beach.
