"In the UK they have the Economist Intelligence Unit. In the USA they have the Harvard Business Review. In New Zealand we have almost nothing that's designed to equip business leaders with intelligence and advice for managing change.

The Briefing was conceived to fill that gap."

Vincent Heeringa

The Briefing is an invitation-only network of senior New Zealand business people who share the determination to transform their business in a world of radical change and is aimed at equipping business leaders in the task of transformation.

Headed up by Vincent Heeringa, editor and publisher of Idealog - the leading magazine of change in New Zealand - The Briefing believes senior New Zealand business leaders need support looking outward of the business in order to navigate transformational change from within.

Teamed up with business luminaries including Dr Jane Cherrington from String Theory, Barbara Chapman from ASB, Derek McCormack from AUT and advertising legends Mike Hutcheson and Roger MacDonnell, The Briefing provides insights, case studies, tools and resources on economic, political and social issues that need to be considered within corporate strategies.

String Theory not only provided strategic insights and content through Dr. Jane Cherrington, but was then charged with producing the design rigour around the publication tools and the event marketing assets.
The Briefing's brand guidelines and style had already been created along with the first publication, this included print finishing techniques such as UV gloss, white and yellow overprinting on the matt black cover stock. What we provided was a far more simplified cover design utilising those techniques in a way that enhanced their subtlety and finish.
