This project originated from an invitation from the band Killimanjaro and the record label Lovers & Lollypops. It aimed at the creation of an image that would unfold into an ensemble of graphic supports expressing the concept underlying Killimanjaro's debut album, Hook.

As Killimanjaro's sound is the result of a blend of heavy and psychedelic rock, we have started by exploring the wide realm of imagery associated with this musical genre. This helped to understand which were the graphical preferences of the band members. Very rapidly we understood that there were two albums that would be enlightening our ride, since they express closely what Killimanjaro were looking for in terms of sound and image. These albums are "Kingdom Come" from the band Sir Lord Baltimore and "Hising Blues" from the band Graveyard.

After this initial phase we decided to create a graphic identity that would express the dark and gloomy ambiance associated with ghost ships. We searched for inspiration on wide variety of pirate movies and ships' illustrations from the XV and XVI centuries. In order to achieve an image that would closely mimic that spirit, we had to explore the techniques and graphic languages of those times.

Besides these studies and reference searches, we had to work out the image for a wider set of graphic support such as the LP packaging and its promotion, the concerts' posters, as well as the merchandising and social media communication.
