Ambitious one really.

The aim was to represent the cultural, historical and human development through this last century.

I chose to show the conflictual elements selecting mostly contrasting

images, accentuating the visual effect that I wanted to obtain through

the layout of the book.

-Intro-

XX century is ambiguous from many points of view. While it may be remembered as the century of technological achievements, it is also the scenario of wars and disasters as we've never seen before.

It was the century that knew emancipation of women and great revolutions in society and culture. Yes, it produced great and bloody tragedies, but it also evolved the consciences of men to the point that men themselves have condemned these savageries.

The two world wars, which occupied half of the century, opened catastrophic scenarios for the history of humanity and involved entire nations and people in conflicts that left indelible scars to the present day.

The wars haven't stopped, peace is still a dream that seems unattainable for many. But comparison between cultures and dialogue are the only weapons that man has at his disposal to prevent new conflicts and to make the dream come true.
