Brush STrokes and Bombay
An artwork to sum up the identity of Bombay with minimal elements that make Bombay, Bombay.
(check out my instagram @artistic.niche for detailed insight on the process)
This artwork aims to capture the true essence of Bombay, specifically representing the old city. From tourist attractions to transportation modes leading there, from the aroma of hot Vada pav served with crispy fried chillies to the scent of fish in koliwadas and fish markets (or bunder as locals call it), I have endeavored to capture the vintage essence of the city, transcending its high-rises and modern shopping complexes.

This old identity of Bombay creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. As someone born in Colaba, I spent much of my childhood wandering the lanes of the old city (Fort), where I feel at home.

Using the watercolor medium aims to convey how the sea is the heart, mind, and soul of this city, around which everything revolves. Bombay's monsoons are not merely weather but a profound sensation; water defines the essence of the city. Neglecting to pay homage to what defines Bombay would be unjust. In this rapidly changing city, the sea remains a constant, and the watercolor effect accentuates the vintage essence of the place.
THANK YOU FOR SCROLLING THROUGH THE PROJECT!!
