Núcleo Ypykuéra

The Ypykuéra Center for Citizenship and Public Policies is a collective initiative to support the formulation and dissemination of progressive policies in Brazil and the strengthening of the universe of actors identified with them in the country.

The name of the initiative indicates the understanding of a ground zero in Brazil's history and is based on the premise that the country's future comes from a full understanding of the past, with its successive flows of occupation and consequent formation of territories.
How to visually translate the scope of the initiative and its multifaceted origin, without falling into stereotypes, simplifications and appropriations?

"Afro-Amerindian-Northeastern-Brazilian iconology is alive. It is an immense source – as big as Brazil – and we must drink from it with lucidity and great love."
Rubem Valentim

The visual identity created for Núcleo Ypykuéra is composed from a Brazilian artistic imaginary that encompasses the complexity of a Brazil with multiple origins.
The brand is a synthesis of the graphics system and proposes a fresh look at the future, alluding to the deconstructed Brazilian flag. The logo explores diagonals, reinforcing the intersectional idea and giving solidity to the visual identity.
