This piece was created for an assignment where students had take a photograph of a person or landscape using a DSLR camera, and then paint over it using Photoshop. The painting also had to resemble the original photograph. I took a self portrait photograph. I used a variety of painting techniques and brushes to create the result I desired.

     The photograph I took had a tense and intimidating vibe that I really liked. I decided to lean into it by adding the black splattered paint in the background. I used different splatter brushes to add freckles. I used two different colors of freckles to add contrast.
