Shelf
PLEATSは紙でできた棚です。わずか0.7mmの紙ですが、紙を折り込むことで強度が増し、本などの重いものをのせることが可能です。蛇腹の構造により、折りたたむことができ、輸送や保管するときに小さなスペースで保管することができます。ユーザーは購入したあとパッケージから製品を取り出し軽く伸ばすことで奥行きが300mmほどに伸張するように設計されています。さらにこの構造は積み重ねるときにぴたっとはまり、連結箇所としても機能します。ロゴは空押しで刻印されていて紙製品ならでは質感を表現しています。パッケージは最小限になるように考えました。二箇所を留めるだけにして、棚の形状のおもしろさをダイレクトに伝わるように考えました。色はグレー、ダークグレー、ブルーの3色でどんな空間にもなじむように選びました。今回、日本の福永紙工株式会社の協力を得てこの棚のプロトタイプを作成しています。
PLEATS is a shelf made of cardboard. Despite only just 0.7mm thickness paper, thanks to the accordion fold structure, it is possible to put heavy stuff on it such as thick art books and heavy objects. The unique structure allows to fold up to minimize the volume and store it in a tiny space. After opening the package, it will be stretched and extended the depth to be about 300mm. The zigzagging shape is not only the structure but also a joint part. It is easy to stuck and connect with beside products. The Logo is debossed which is intended to explain a paper material. The package is minimum size and it emphasizes the uniqueness of this product. It has 3 colors, gray, dark gray and blue to fit any kinds of rooms. The prototypes were made by FUKUNAGA PRINT Co., Ltd.
