Brief
Create an appealing package by focusing on color, visual elements, typography and design including size, shape and format using one of the provided die line files. Consider the intended message and audience while developing an original concept and design.

Tools
Adobe Photoshop (editing collage graphic)
Adobe Illustrator (final artwork composition)
Esko Studio (3D rendering of final box design and die line)
Visualizing the Die Line
Using the Esko Studio extension for Adobe Illustrator, I was able to three-dimensionally render the provided die line. It was difficult to discern from a flat die line how to assemble the box three-dimensionally, but with some trial and error I was able to produce this model.
Design Decisions

Collage Graphic: Using vintage craft magazines and I produced a physical collage piece for the primary focal point of the box. I feel that this scrappy style reflects the intention behind the box, which is to encourage people to be more environmentally conscious on an individual level. Additionally, the vibrant colors provide effective contrast to the brown corrugate substrate.
Researching Corrugate Compostability: In order for this box to be compostable itself after being used for its initial purpose of containing compost, I needed to conduct some research. I discovered that corrugate compostability depends on a variety of factors including ink coverage, ink types, and substrate finishing processes.

To better organize my design reasoning and research, I created an infographic (see below) outlining my design plan and decisions.
