In this project, I created a theater poster, and other supporting materials for the thought-provoking, and humorous play "The Metal Children" by Adam Rapp. This drama explores themes of censorship and the impact of literature, and more broadly, forms of art on society. The main protagonist, Tobin Falmouth, writes "The Metal Children" based on a dream he had. His novel ends up deeply impacting a small midwestern town.
I wanted to go for a surreal collage, paste-together feel. I knew I wanted to go for a photographic solution as I felt it would have suited the dramatic play.
