This piece was a collaboration between Sara Duff and I for a curated show at Chicago Art Department called Root. The intent of the exhibition was to explore tenuous relationships and the impermanent. The noise of a typewriter (+ a little trumpet) was our jumping off point, which Sara Duff manipulated, mixed, and looped. After gathering many scraps of paper to stain with coffee, Sara Duff and I typed typed typed on every piece. Using only glue, I rolled up all the scraps and puzzled them together. Inside the paper sculpture there is a light bulb and a speaker to play the audio.
