Poster and Social Media Project
"The goal of the poster is to walk you through the design process and solidify the design principles." That was the prompt we received for this project, in with the creative freedom received I instantly knew what I wanted to create. I got my inspiration from a song, and the music video ended being shot in Cape Town, South Africa. The energy from the song was very upbeat, so I wanted to create something with light colors that was easy on the eyes. I thought that a beach with mountains in the background would be a great way to show the geography of the city, and I decided to add a blimp being the same color as the South African flag. I decided for the prompt to be about being an invitation to visit the country and city.
As for the social media posts, I wanted to keep making the geography of the area to be the main focus of them. So I decided to create a post showing off things to do in the area such as zip lining in the mountains, visiting historic monuments throughout Cape Town, and visiting famous beaches such as Boulder Beach which is known for its Boulders and Penguins!
