Boldly growing Byte's brand
Brief: Create official branding for the agency's collection of internal tools in order to start offering them as products/services for clients.

As a scale-up design agency that achieved great success through word of mouth and client recommendation, Byte London's brand never needed more than a distinctive name, logo, and mission.

However, following conversations with the tech team about consolidating and refining our sprawling collection of internal production tools to create a centralised, accessible library of resources for employees and clients, we saw the perfect opportunity to explore how the brand could develop.
Accessed through a secure web portal, the launch products were:

RELAY, an ecosystem of inter-connected products created for developing and analysing chatbots.
ROGER, a pre-built chatbot framework.
REACTOR, a system for optimising ads for highly-individualised targeting.
LIGHTSPEED, a tool for creating assets at scale.
TOOLBOX, a collection of smaller, single-function tools that can be bundled together in different configurations depending on needs.

Working at speed with 3 weeks from inception to launch, the most important goal was to create something consistent. This was one small step for design, one giant leap for the attitude towards developing our internal brand.
With such a rich environment for visual ideas, I know we barely scratched the surface of where this direction could go. For example, perhaps there is a better solution to distinguish between different configurations of TOOLBOX? Colour is an obvious indicator that something is different, but its meaning is obscure so I wanted to explore further the idea of 'different selection' in the design itself (perhaps more literally). Yet done is better than perfect, and I had fun making these illustrations in the little time I had.
