Poster & Social Media Project
This project allowed for creative freedom as the instructions were to create a poster and social media posts for an event of your choice.

Given this prompt, I began by brainstorming different activities that I love and how I could turn that into an event. I landed with my love for board games. I began with a line border that would encompass my final design and I put the title on the left side as part of the line, later I adjusted the title to be more readable and flow with the rest of the design by adding a game box around it. I loved the idea of stacking board games on one another and throughout the design process what this looks like changed constantly. It started as a small group of board games in line, then became more of a whole-page look. What stuck was stacking them like Jenga blocks pushed out from one another. I added the event information to three of the bigger-sized boxes and then played around with finding the right font. The coloring was a bit of a challenge; at first, it was too much, next it was too dark, and finally, I landed on a pastel vintage color theme. However, the work was still missing something. With this idea of it being a community event, I was inspired to add different known board game pieces. Placing the pieces on the outside of the boxes, helped to achieve a cohesive look.

The social media posts were the final part of my design process. We had to create three social media posts; I did mine as an Instagram carousel post. I used the different game pieces to promote the event in the posts and I kept all the coloring the same, keeping the project cohesive.
