Bivariate Map of Obesity and Diabetes in the United States

This map illustrates a pattern of where obesity and diabetes are mostly concentrated in the darker purple areas. This method is commonly used to illustrate two very connected variables. 

The pink represents the obesity rates as of 2020 while the blue represents the diabetes rates. When the blue and pink "mix" and create purple for high concentrations of both. It helps to think of this map as two colorful maps overlayed onto each other. 

The trend visible above tells us a story that the American south struggles the most with these two issues.
