Video Promo - This Is Brazuca

This video was made using Adobe After Effects as a video promo for the website This Is Brazuca (you can see the project here This Is Brazuca).

The objective was to create a 1-minute video promoting the project while combining captured footage, photos, music/sound effects, text, and graphic elements. Below, you will see the process I went through and the promotional video.

I started by adding the title of the project, “This Is Brazuca” and adding a typewriter effect to it. On BBC Sound Effects website I got a typewriter sound effect. To remove the text, I used the fade-out effect.

Then, the song Garota de Ipanema (The Girl From Ipanema) by Tom Jobim, the instrumental version, was added, as well as some text. I created three different sized circles with the Brazilian color flag and set it to float around the screen. As it is possible to see in the image below, there are a lot of anchor points, this is because I was resizing the circles at different moments and putting them to go in various directions.

From there, four photos of Dublin (taken by me) were added, the 3D Layer, in the Y axis, was used to create a transition through a rotation from one image to another.

I screen recorded myself creating a HTML page and editing my JavaScript file. I sped up the video to matched it to the beat of the song.

I then started adding the screenshots from the actual website. I made the images slide into the scene and “set back” (scaled the images to become smaller), and used the ‘Keyframe Assistant - Easy Ease’ to make the movement more subtle. Each new image that came sliding in I stacked it with the others that were there.

Then, to finalize, I added four texts. Three were questions appearing and staying on screen and disappearing at the beat, and the last text as an invitation to go to the website.
