Ardent Flames - A Volunteer Program under Geyland East Home for the Aged (GEHA)
In collaboration with a group of Psychology students in Temasek Polytechnic, we were tasked to create a new volunteer programme concept for Geylang East Home for the Aged (GEHA). The problem we concluded upon research was that there were not enough volunteers due to the lack of marketing, thus the concept I worked on was to create an activity-based accessible programme for both volunteers and seniors to enjoy.
Ardent Flames is a programme where volunteers come together to create and plan activities for seniors to promote active ageing. The flexibility of the way activities are being organised allows people from all walks of life to intersect and find a time to come together and bond through activities that also promotes active ageing by keeping seniors constantly engaged. To make the programme more attractive, I developed on appropriate touchpoints such as a welcome kit, an Instagram page and website to allow people to know more about the programme.
