DearBuds is a product that removes the moisture in your ears to prevent infections, which is becoming a more frequent problem due to the wide use of in-ear earbuds that can trap moisture inside the ear. With a familiar form factor of typical earphones, the product can be easily worn on the ear, and an optimal structure was developed to facilitate efficient air flow that’s enabled by the electric fan inside. The soft design language resembles two smooth pebbles joined together, and the air flow vent in between creates the sense of gentle air naturally flowing through the gap. The vent hole details emphasize its efficient performance while visually communicating the product’s purpose with an iconic look.
The portable case uses a simple device nesting method that realizes low production costs with its single injection molded part and enables convenient portability for the users. While the device is nested in its case, the top of the device remains exposed for ease of access and shows a consistent aesthetic presence even while being charged in its case.
