This small collection showcases sketches of places from Lucknow, a city I adore wandering through, especially during the cool summer evenings or in the early and late winters. The old part of the city, with its grand architectural splendor and intricate designs, never fails to uplift my mood, reminding me of a bygone era.

The first two sketches depict Lucknow University, one of India's oldest government-owned higher education institutions. The third sketch captures the Lucknow Residency, which also served as a battlefield during the 1857 Revolt, marking the first war of independence against the British. It still has marks of the battle. It's disheartening to witness the decay of such architectural marvels, whether personal residences or landmarks of historical significance. Preserving the unique essence of each city is crucial; homogenizing their appearances strips away their individual character, as if erasing their very soul.
