This Posterzine was created based on my research, interviews, and interactions with a member of the community, Linae Warden. It was done in collaboration with Colorado State University’s Center for Healthy Aging exhibition. For this project, I conducted research about aging and how it is negatively represented in our community and came up with ways I could re-represent it in a positive light. 

I came to learn that aging is graceful and full of joy, thanks to my friend Linae who shared her life story and journey with aging. I created the title “Focus on Every StAGE” to show the journey of aging, and how we should be grateful for each new stage of life. I kept the colors bright and fun to resemble the youth individuals hold inside themselves even in their older age. I collected photos of Linae through the years, scanned them into Photoshop, and edited them to match the overall theme. I worked on creating a cohesive layout that was easy to read while still interesting to look at. 

This project was a lot of fun to work on and I am glad I got the opportunity to research and collaborate with a different department. Linae told me I really saw and heard her, which was moving. To me, this is what art is about - being able to create these meaningful connections.
