Project: Merchandise Design
Galint Melee Open (GMO) is an annual online Smash Bros Melee tournament hosted by Galint Gaming. This year's theme, "magical girl galaxy," featured a palette of purple and pink hues. For my merchandise designs, I opted to complement the colour theme with hints of orange, creating a sunset gradient effect.
In terms of design elements, I selected Kirby as the main character due to its widespread popularity in pop culture and other Nintendo games. I also incorporated the addition symbol (D-pad on the Gamecube controller) and a globe to align with the magical galaxy theme.
I had the liberty to select which merchandise items I wanted to design, opting for those that I felt resonated well with gaming culture.
Utilizing Galint's main font further enhanced the overall aesthetic of my designs, seamlessly integrating them with the event's branding.
