This is my 90's Remix Portfolio
Above this is the final product for this project.
It comes to a total of 31 Seconds.
The idea for this piece was to reimagine an Intellectual Property from the 90's and I chose 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'. I had several ideas for how I could have taken this IP and here are some of them:
- Sheriff in 90's neon fashion
- Sheriff in 90's rock band
- 90's art style/ graffiti
- Holding/using 90's tech
- Change outfit to a 90's style but same clothes
- Good Guy in 90's Clothing
- Walk cycle of Sheriff on Horse
- Trailer - From Sheriff's perspective - Just doing his job
Within this Project, I used far more reference images than I have before to try and get this character to look like the actual person and make the environment correct and look natural. I chose to use my own images as opposed to free references or just the ones from the film so that I could see how the world truly looked from different angles: Birds eye, Worm eye, Dutch Angles. All of them helped even if it wasn't evident in the final piece.
Most are images I took after going out into the world and exploring, however I had to use picture reference from the film to see if there was anything that stuck out in that environment that wasn't in mine.
As you can see, some of them are from the film but the majority of those were taken by me. Any that don't have a character in were taken by me. The only other reference that wasn't mine was the fire which ended up being very helpful in the Animation.
Here are all the individual scenes before being compiled together to create the final piece.
All of these videos here are in the order that the story would go, however, I decided that it wouldn't make sense to structure a trailer like that and instead messed up the scenes to be in a more trailer like style.
Here I have the original story board as as you'll see, it has some scenes drawn that didn't end up making it to the final cut. This was because I felt that those scenes sort of ruined the trailer aspect of it and didn't serve the purpose of it so I removed those before I got to production phase.
