Media Facade

In the main hall of the National Daegu Museum, a media facade measuring
4.8x1.2x7.48 meters has been installed on a LED tower. The facade showcases
themes revolving around the plaques of the Joseon Dynasty.

The traditional knots of the Joseon Dynasty stand as one of the representative elements
of Korean history and culture. By incorporating various colors and symmetrical forms of traditional knots,
we have crafted the tone and manner of the video to express beauty. We represented restrained beauty through
patterns and infused vitality through typography, while also expressing scale and harmony through form.

The patterned traditional decorations unfurl like curtains, revealing the title of Joseon signboard
at the center. The title disintegrates into particles, and the screen switches.

Lines make a square and draw flowers.
Petals appear from the center between the flowers, scatter.

A line appears on a blank sheet of paper. The line writes the letters one by one.

The blocks of wood engraved with letters are slowly carved and fragments are scattered.
Fragments merge in the form of phoenix heads.

The a lacquered pattern is drawn and the camera enlarges the pattern.
The lines are drawn to outline the shape of the signboard. The space between the lines is filled
with a gold frame, and the signboard emerges.

The camera zooms in on the text, which is then highlighted in gold,
and circular text materializes on the signboard.

The finished plaques descend slowly and accumulate.
The signs are stacked one by one, gradually filling the screen.

The signboard unfolds, and blocks featuring various traditional patterns fill the screen.
