Veg Out!
Designs for fictional veg box company
This project was the second part of a third year Graphics paper. The first part was about detailing an issue (I chose the environmental footprint of meat production), and the second part was a response to the issue. I came up with a fictional company that offered vegetable boxes that replaced the nutritional value of meat. It came in a pig shaped box; the idea being, you ate the contents of this veg pig, not the real thing!

The style plays heavily on Kiwi rural vernacular - roadside veg sellers, and the art of Dick Frizzell and others. The language is very informal and plays on the New Zealand language ('mint', 'sweet as', etc).

My designs included the logo, the box itself, fabricated from FSC plywood, as well as marketing collateral and brand identity pieces.
Hand drawn logo (scanned marker pen drawing edited in Photoshop to give a handmade, offset print style) gives an informal feel to the brand and sits well with the humorous name for the company. The font is the lovely Markus Ink.
Letterhead with printed reverse side.
Swing tag on veg box.
A selection of seed packets.
Herb pot labels.
Business cards (some details removed).
The full collection.
