Introduction
This is a portfolio of work I have done throughout my internship with the Office of Sustainability at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During this internship I have created a variety of designs for both student and staff facing communications for print and digital applications. While working in this team I collaborated with the Sustainability Program Coordinator and Program Assistants to develop designs that strengthen the messages put out by the Office of Sustainability. These messages primarily pertain to education and engagement with sustainable practices on campus.

Through this internship I have honed my design abilities as well as invaluable workplace skills such as collaboration, communication, and problem solving. I have learned how to create effective designs while following brand guidelines as well as utilize my unique perspective as a student to strengthen our communications aimed at students. Overall, this experience has provided me with important insight into how graphic design functions in the workplace to prepare me for my future career.

Message Matrix
This is one of the first projects I was tasked with at the start of this internship. The goal of this project was to visually represent the four main messages put out by the Office of Sustainability. This was meant to make these messages more engaging and easily displayable at events or during presentations.
Sustainability Bingo
This project was devised to encourage students and staff on campus to both learn about and participate in sustainability on campus. The Bingo board was created as a physical display for events as well as an interactable PDF for participants. Advertising for Instagram as well as digital signage boards across campus were also created. Finally, the ticket was created to display one of the prizes available to participants.
Staff Communications
These projects are a couple of examples of communications sent to staff to promote sustainable events created in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability.
Resident Assisant and Dorm Boards
These boards were created as an ongoing collaboration between the Office of Sustainability and University housing. The goal was to create boards that Resident Assistants could check out and display on their respective floors throughout the dorm buildings. Each board corresponds with a respective master plan icon theme. The two displayed here being “Energy” and “Landscaping.” The last board was created to educate students about the All in the Hall recycling program being implemented across campus. This board in located in the main lobby of the University Suites dorm building.
Solar Array Signage
This signage will be placed outside the Animal Science Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. It was created to inform the community about the solar array that powers the building with an emphasis on educating about how solar panels work.
