Interior design - "The Blues Porch" shop - 4'th year

During my 4'th year in Architecture school, we had to think a music shop inside one of the architectural icons of the old part of Timisoara - the Serbian Curacy building of Unirii Square.

I chose to make a Blues Harmonica and music shop that gets it's concept as an interpretation of the front porch of a house - one of the main concert stages back in the day. Thought to be an urban porch where you can play music, read or just listen while observing the passing John Doe, away from the noisy city.

Another important conceptual element was to use the 2 main materials from which almost all instruments are made of: steel and wood, in contrast with the original old bricks.

The lower shape is thought to be a "stage" for small concerts or just a place where you can quickly drink your coffee, while the upper part is a place where you can disconnect for a short period of time from the city - therefore the upper part is disconnected from the lower space, as it was floating.
