My second big project working with Ezzo Design was a luxurious apartment situated in a historic building from Timisoara.
The biggest challenge for me was to adapt to this type of aesthetics, because I prefer clean and minimal designs. So I took it as a challenge: to respect the clients requests and to mend it as much as possible to fit my way of designing a clean interior.
I had to take into consideration some plasterboard elements already built (f.e. the false ceiling in the living room, the ceiling in the dormitory and the tv wall from the same space), altogether with the historic doors and windows and some furniture pieces that the client already bought like the candle shelves in the dormitory or the couch in the living room.
Keeping in mind the clients love for yachts, his wandering nature and the photos of his beloved ones I tried to integrate this in my design and make it the main theme of the apartment - special "shrines" for his photos and sea decoration ellements like the maps and lighthouse sketches, the boat-like signal lamp, etc.
I preferred to avoid using a lot of decoration items and gave a luxurious feeling to the space by using expensive looking materials like brass, combined with noble dark wood and some light Grey contrast elements. All these working well with the old parquet and the old windows where I preferred to clean them from the white paint and leave their natural wood color.
