2013 RSA Awards :: Water Everywhere

Water, Water Everywhere
RSA Awards

A campaign which brings awareness of stress on the supply and distribution caused by wasting water in the UK. The message developed for the campaign raises awareness of improving water management to save money, linking to household costs in Southern England that run directly off water meters and homes that pay Council Tax in northern Counties of the UK. The campaign uses frozen rain water as an ice installation moulded in the form of British currency. This would work at any scale in a busy or confined public area where a large ice coin would be left to melt and waste away over time to symbolise wasting money.

The campaign was inspired from a relation between wasted water in an average household and how much a household water bill costs. This led to the conclusion that the public reaction towards wasting money would be more impacting than an awareness that focuses on how wasting water effects the climate by putting a real cost on the individual.
