This is a lapel pin design I did for Oklahoma’s BPA pin design contest, and it was also the very first project I had done related to graphic design. My peers and I were instructed to create an eye catching design for a lapel pin that follows the theme of our state, in this case Oklahoma, for it to be presented at statewide BPA competitions. We were only allowed to use 4 colors (excluding the color for the metal of the pin) and use the programs Procreate, Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I made the initial design using Procreate, and made additional refinements and added text using Adobe Illustrator. Participating in this contest helped me to envision my ideas and present them in a timely manner. It also helped me work with color themes and simple principles of design. My design ended up placing top 3 of my class.
