Apulian coat of arms Redesign

The concept stemmed from a project for my graduation thesis, with the goal of devising a fresh and captivating coat of arms for my native region of Apulia, situated in Italy, one that would be more intimately linked to its rich history.
For my new coat of arms, I chose to use the personal coat of arms of Robert Hauteville, also known as "Guiscard", as it was used for much of the early Middle Ages to represent the Duchy of Apulia. The coat of arms depicts a red rampant lion (Guiscard's coat of arms) holding an olive branch, which is a reference to the rural life of Apulia.
