The goal of the project was to enhance the meaning of a Bible verse or other proverb using color and typography in a format appropriate for social media.
Alternative Colored Versions
I enjoy this color scheme, but when considering the audience that would most benefit from this proverb, I came to the conclusion that it would be young men, and this color scheme was not the best way to appeal to them.
This color scheme is functional, but not nearly as attractive as the other two in my opinion.
Digital Roughs
I consider this a solid design, but unfortunately it evokes eye imagery which has no relevance to the verse, and thus is distracting.
This early version of the final design has its text broken up into fragments that work specially, but make it difficult to read because of the strange way thoughts are broken up. I made sure to remedy this for the final design.
Sketches
The most exhausting part of doing these thumbnail sketches was recreating the fonts. I referenced them from a document I set up in Illustrator, and the work was certainly worth it to make sure the sketches were actually giving me an impression of what the finished version would look like.
