Found on multiple local “best hikes” lists, Bender Mountain Loop Trail is the top-rated hiking trail near Cincinnati according to All Trails. This moderately difficult trail has a total elevation gain of more than 400 feet, making it the biggest uphill climb in the Bender Mountain Nature Preserve.

A loop that covers roughly 2.3 miles, the Bender Mountain Loop Trail takes hikers through natural environments that include forested areas and meadows. In the right season, the trail offers plenty of opportunities to see regional wildflowers. Other scenic features along the trail include a rushing creek and numerous unique rock formations.

As hikers make their way up and around Bender Mountain, they can enjoy many beautiful vistas that include exceptional views of the Ohio River below. While intermediate hikers are likely to complete the Bender Mountain Loop Trail without difficulty, all hikers should beware that its initial and final sections are quite steep.
