BRIEF
This assignment tasked us to create an infographic poster from a topic that can be effectively presented in poster format. The content must be interesting, unique, and engaging.
Much of this project was spent conducting research and experimenting with various layout options. The message is meant to appeal to a specific audience and through visual hierarchy and effective typography.
CHALLENGE
After a bit of brainstorming and sketching, I decided to design a poster commemorating the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team. Touted as one of the greatest college football teams of all time, I wanted this poster would consist of captivating statistics and dynamic graphics to showcase the team's unparalleled success, and also the aesthetic of 1990s collegiate sports apparel

In drawing inspiration from diverse vintage apparel designs, I opted for a title font featuring slender stems and pronounced serifs, reminiscent of the classic collegiate aesthetic. The chosen Scarlet & Cream color palette, representing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, infuses authenticity into the design. With a deliberate hierarchy, my focus lies on accentuating the team's accolades and the remarkable perfect season, creating a visually engaging narrative that pays homage to their achievements while embracing the timeless charm of retro collegiate style.

RESEARCH
Exploring the archives of vintage collegiate apparel was imperative to capture the fashion aesthetic of the era. While the thematic direction was clear, the challenge proved to be in gathering and synthesizing statistics to inform a well-considered design. Recognizing the significance of accuracy, I delved into the season's stat book archives, investing substantial time in online research to find specific and relevant team statistics.

REFLECTION
Finding the right balance between aesthetics and information brought it's fair share of challenges, but the process ended up a lot more gratifying than expected. Diving into the rich history of this program's success added a layer of excitement to this project, as I have been a huge fan of this team since I was a kid. Exploring a wider range of merchandise aesthetic was also very enjoyable, and I got to learn to utilize intentional design whilst displaying important information.
This project became much more than a task. It evolved into a deep exploration of nostalgia, design, and the celebration of one of the greatest college football teams that my home state cherishes very much.
