Romeo and Juliet Movie Poster

This project was made as a study on associating a popular franchise/brand with a different genre. I chose Romeo and Juliet and decided to associate with the crime/heist genre.
Research
My first step was to take notes on what I wanted from the idea. I briefly mapped out how I wanted the plot to be, wrote down some key components from the original tale, and even wrote down a target audience for my movie.
Ideation
I then sketched out some rough ideas for my poster, keeping in mind the original fable and the new genre switch. I incorporated specific details such as the bottle of poison and the pose between the two.
Drafting
My first draft focused on the general idea of what I wanted my project to resemble in the final draft. While the basic look was low-quality, it translated my vision well.
Finalization
This eventually leads to the final draft, which was slightly altered to fit a similar vision. I removed the policemen on the sides and replaced them with a bank safe background, changed the graphic for the couple, adjusted the colors for the main backdrop, and added some special effects to the logo and overall graphic.
The final product accomplished the vision I had originally achieved: a Romeo and Juliet movie poster set in a crime/heist genre. I was able to practice with using Photoshop and utilizing different graphics and sources to combine into a single project.
