Client
I designed a poster zine around the 1914 font Souvenir by Morris Fuller Benton. The poster zine consists of an 8-page zine with a poster on the reverse side. It has information regarding the origin and history of the font, a review of the typeface and examples of the font in existing work.

Concept
I created a poster zine that is modern and colourful and features the font throughout. There are 8 pages in the zine and 8 letters in the word souvenir this was one of the main influences behind the design. I used a bold colour palette of shades of blue, green and yellow. The reason behind this was to give a modern touch to the popular in the 1970s font. I paired back the poster design to give it a contrast compared to the zine.

Concept Implementation
I began by researching the font and found that it was popular and overused during the 1970s. I decided to do a modern take on the font to show that it has moved away from being the comic sans of the 1970s. I then decided to design a typographical-based poster zine. I highlighted them by having them displayed in the background and using a variety of font weights throughout.

When designing the zine, I used each letter of the word souvenir on each page. I placed the typography in creative ways over a two-page spread. For the cover, I used the letter S to form a pattern. For the poster I paired back the design by highlighting the font in different orientations and weights. The word souvenir has the same pattern as the zine cover. I used Adobe Photoshop to display my designs on free mock-up templates. I made use of Adobe InDesign to design all my layouts.
