Exercise 2: Packaging - Spice Girls Herbal Tea

The Spice Girls are a British girl group that gained immense popularity in the mid-1990s. Formed in 1994, the group originally consisted of five members:

Melanie Brown (Scary Spice)
Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice)
Emma Bunton (Baby Spice)
Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice)
Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice)
The Spice Girls achieved international fame with their debut single, "Wannabe," released in 1996. The song became a massive hit and topped the charts in numerous countries.

The Spice Girls' debut album, "Spice," released in 1996, was also a tremendous success, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. The group's success continued with subsequent albums, including "Spiceworld" (1997).

The Spice Girls' impact on popular culture, especially in the 1990s, is significant, and they are often credited with popularizing the concept of the "girl group" in the contemporary music scene.
Brainstorming
Creating an herbal tea product for the Spice Girls first sounded like a big challenge. When I first looked up the aesthetics of the Spice Girls, I saw a lot of vibrant, busy colors which is the complete opposite aesthetic when you think of herbal teas.
After having my ideas down on paper, I realized tea can also be fun. The packaging can be different from other herbal tea brands.
Brand Personality
The group's music is often characterized by its catchy pop sound, and their lyrics often emphasized themes of female empowerment and friendship.

Apart from their music, the Spice Girls became known for their distinctive individual personas and fashion styles, which were often exaggerated in their music videos and public appearances. The group's mantra of "girl power" and their message of female solidarity resonated with a broad audience, particularly young girls and women.
The color palette and the fonts are both inspired by their tour posters which were often bright vibrant colors with thick, bold fonts.
Designs
With the labels, I wanted to keep the look clean but still vibrant. I decided to go with two colors instead of just one for the label colors to make them look more fun. The dome like shape was inspired by the globe graphic from the tour poster that also inspired the color palette and font. Each label includes the different herbal tea blend flavor and includes the flavors on the bottom.
