Jerusalemix is a four-of-a-kind card game on the theme of Jerusalem.
My work in this project was to illustrate 48 cards of Jerusalem, and the game packaging. It was a long and enjoyable process of finding the right story to tell about this beautiful city.
About the work process
I worked with two great designers who gave me a list of topics, for example - Yad Vashem, "Bageleh" with Za'atar, Friday Prayers etc.
I researched each topic, both visually - for photos and images, and conceptually - searching for stories, history aspects.
I started with a simple pencil sketch explaining the main idea of each topic, then draw the illustration with simple black pen. Finally, I added colors with Photoshop.
My favorite card is Yad Vashem card.
As a third generation of the holocaust, the shadow of the holocaust
touched my four grandmothers and grandfathers (of blessed memory).

This card was charged with a lot of emotions, and I searched a way to
express them in this illustration. I wanted to give a stage for both the past and the present, for the memory and the daily coping.

The background of the card is The Hall of Names at Yad Vashem,
and I decided to use the names of my deceased relatives who were
murdered in the holocaust (and also Rama and Efrat relatives - Owners of the game)

The game was given as a gift to president Barack Obama on his visit to Israel in 2013.
