Demo/Artscene: Vice Point - Fair Game

There have been several cassettes lately that have sold out before release. It is becoming a popular medium inside certain genres of music, particularly 80's and retro-electro, as collector's items or special editions.

These scenes have a certain attitude and graphic style that can be expressed with such things as CB radio, tape computing, Demoscene, pirated VHS and SSTV (slow scan television).

// wow - that takes me back... jeez how old am I now?

I thought it'd be neat to hide a secret picture in a secret track at the end of an E60, where people can line-in to their computers, load up an SSTV converter, hit play on their walkman and listen to the sweet, sweet sound of data while watching a pic crawl onto their screen.

Like a secret track, at the end of a CD, but you'd have to be a geek to be able to get the secret picture from the track. Converting the track to the secret picture... That's a project for the future. Graphical Sound is awesome.

Might want to check your volume if you are wearing headphones...
The video is one long gif from photoshop's timeline.
Anaglyph Green/Red 3D effect can still be noticable at 16 colours.
I'm not sure how I would feel if I wanted to listen to the tape for the music, and had to skip past some noise every time, but the tech-geek and audiophile in me likes the idea of being given the bonus to mess with this stuff as well as some nice music.

It can be "deleted" by recording over the tape section, but then it wouldn't be the collector's edition...

Thanks for looking!

Grab some anaglyph 3D glasses and head over to tumblr!
