In Poznań, at Kościuszki Street there is a Dominican Monastery and Church.
Although the construction of the sacred building began in 1937 on the initiative of the authorities of the University of Poznań and the then rector, prof. Stanisław Kasznica, it was finally completed and consecrated only on October 2, 1949.
The original design by architect Stefan Cybichowski assumed that the facility would be much larger than the one that was finally built and put into use.
After many changes, the additional author of the church design was prof. Władysław Czarnecki.
However, it is worth mentioning that the finishing of the facility itself took much longer, until the 1970s.
