queer azadi mumbai

Mumbai is famous for being home to diverse communities. People from every part of India have found their place here. So have the entire rainbow of Indians of all sexual orientations and gender identities. The city is often blind to their daily struggles against mainstream prejudice-fuelled violence. But on Queer Azaadi day, Mumbai is blinded by the rainbow colours of the movement that celebrates freedom to love who you want, whether you are queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or hetero. The logo shows the rainbow lighting up Mumbai on this day.
Designed by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, pride flag has undergone several revisions. The most common variant consists of six stripes, with the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Baker assigned specific meaning to each of the colors.
