University project requiring the creation of a booklet that documented all acquired research utilised for the corrasponding ‘Rebranding the Baths’ project. Styled after medieval codices and manuscripts with both Germanic and Romanic influences.
Overview
A project with the goal of documenting and discussing all research that contributed towards the conceptual ‘Rebranding the Baths’ project, that focused on giving the Roman Baths an updated identity, through relevant and structured data. The research compiled includes an exploration of the Roman Baths site itself, analysis of existing historical establishments and brands as well as investigations into relevant real world historical cultures, including studies into symbology and iconography. The booklet itself falling in line with the historical theme of the project is an ode to medieval manuscripts utilising a column based formatting system, with stylised drop caps and a mixture of photography and illustrative imagery, paying homage to the priests who would often doodle on the sides of documents.
