COLOR THEORY

I started by making three sketches that were mostly formed out of basic shapes.
I struggled a lot with this, because I'm a perfectionist even when it comes to quick sketches and because I never draw in photoshop.
But eventually I ended up with three sketches I was somewhat okay with.
Then I looked at the poses again and figured the anatomy was incorrect, so I started looking at references and fixed the middle pose, which was the one I wanted to use.
When I was finally happy with the pose, I started giver the character some clothes and set up for the face and hair. I ended up changing the wind direction again when I started doing the line art.
In the second sketch you can see all the different directions I tried and you can also see the faded lines of the bags on the characters waist.

I also struggled with the big medium small method a lot. I never knew what was small or what exactly was medium, so I hope I somehow did that right.
This is the finished line art. I drew the hands and, as I said before, I changed the direction of the wind and like draw details like fingers, clothing folds, and eyelashes.

Then I colored the character. For the first one I used complementary colours. I personally like complementary colors, so I immediately knew I wanted to use that. I played around with the color wheel for a while before I settled on this.

For the second one I used analogous colors.
I really like how art with analogous colors look in art, but I'm not sure if it works on this character. I kept the hair white in both color variations because it matched both of them. I tried to make it blue but it looked really weird.
