The Soviet Union, or officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was a transcontinental country that was in existence for approximately 70 years. The stills in this collection give an on the ground glimpse inside what everyday life was like living in the country before its eventual collapse in 1991. Far removed from the widespread news propaganda of the time, these images show the reality of this time period as represented by those living within it.
