Brief: Create a room defuser packaging design that has historical reference to the Japanese Kabuki Theatre and traditional wood cuts. Develop your own lino or wood cut and use this print in some form in your design.

 

Outcome: For this brief I created a story about a samuri that gets transformed into a half deer half human, by what I called a 'deertaur'. The story is greusome and dark, which lends itself perfectly to the name, Dark Knight. I chose to therefore, lino-cut a support graphic that was reminisent of the armor of the Japanese samuri's. Bringing the icy blue, grey and white colour pallet into play, was a decision I made off of the location of the story, which was in the snowy mountains.
