This piece was done for an undergraduate painting class meant to depict a social issue that was going on at the time that we felt strongly about. The image is depicting the struggles that the immigrants that the ICE raids that happened in the late 2019’s had to go through, and mirroring the victims of the holocaust from WWII. I believe that this image is successful because of how uncomfortable that the chosen imager makes the viewer uncomfortable it is also successful because it forces the viewer to see the parallels between the treatment of the people, another way that this is done is with the sickly color of the figures on the right.
