OBJECTIVE
Create an iPhone app version of Plan-of-Action's original "Day-of-the-Wedding" Pocketbook Planner in-line with its original purpose. Also make it clean, easy-to-use, and in-line with current brand style - modernizing when applicable.
Create an iPhone app version of Plan-of-Action's original "Day-of-the-Wedding" Pocketbook Planner in-line with its original purpose. Also make it clean, easy-to-use, and in-line with current brand style - modernizing when applicable.
CONCEPT
The original "DOTW" Pocketbook Planner was designed to be:
1) Cute with classy touches of feminine sensability.
2) Extremely Portable (to fit into one's pocketbook).
3) Focused on only information that would be useful, and excluding everything that is not.
4) Able to be handed over by the bride to a trusted person, who would then use it to ensure all goes well on the "big day" without having to disturb the bride with a million questions.
The nature of a phone app is already portable, and the cute and classy touches were simple enough to add. Also since this is a mobile-first design, the principles of mobile-first were applied to ensure a lean and efficient UX/UI. The app was designed with a unique Mode Switch that allows the bride, once she has input all of the necessary information and made her final selections, to switch to "Wedding Day" Mode which would lock in all of her final selections, and present them in a clean hourly timeline, while hiding all the information that is no longer under consideration, thus enabling anyone to effortlessly take over the duties of wedding day coordinator.
