Rookie Dough is an illustrated publication started by the students of MA Illustration and Visual Media.
Rookie Dough Vol. 1 – Creature Feature is a Risograph printed publication that explores the theme of entities that exist beyond the boundaries of human societal ideals. These creatures are imagined beings that can manifest in any form - a facsimile of something human, something alien, or something completely beyond our conception.
The publication seeks to interpret this expansive subject through 21 diverse artworks that traverse through boundless fictional worlds and unravel the unfamiliar.

My submission to this publication is called- Hello, little one
Hello, little one captures a moment in time of a creature nurturing a younger version of itself blossoming from a flower. This little creature is symbolic of the inner child, a part of our childhood selves that resides deep within each of us and often needs love and care. The artwork serves as a reminder to look inward and tend to the aspects of ourselves that may have been neglected or left unresolved, leading us on a path towards healing and self-love.

It is through nurturing and healing our inner child that we can foster a profound sense of self-compassion for the
creature we are today.
